God's Favorite hymn?

Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy Deut 5.12. The observance of the Sabbath is an incredibly strange one today for both believer and worshiper. I've put this into two categories because within the OT there are to types of people who observe and keep the Sabbath holy. those who worship Baal, and those who worship Yahweh. The worship of Baal is simple and plain, everything is the same, the interest in God, the understanding of God where their beliefs are very similar in all aspects except one, who they serve.

My Blog today simply came through a notion and a very simple question. When it comes to singing a hymn does God have a favorite hymn? Does he like the old traditional hymns that are all about Him, or does He like the new and modern type of hymn that's all about 'me'. What kind of hymn does God like, because He (Yahweh) is indeed the one we are worshiping, and what struck me through the week was not only the question of does God have a favorite hymn, but who are we singing them to ourselves or God, or both?

Those who worshiped Baal were actually singing to themselves, and for themselves, and their own enjoyment, and everything was about pleasing themselves. Those who worshiped Yahweh were insistent that they were worshiping God and that worship was about pleasing God, and so I just wondered what kind of hymns does God like, and so ask myself, out of all the hymns we do sing, are we singing them because we like them or are we singing them because God likes them? What about the Psalms, the Scottish Psalter, Moody and Sankie, Wesley, Kendrick ,what about Jane Francis Crosby, John Newton, the list goes on and on, but what about God? What does he like? I think He likes all of them, and then any hymn whether our favorite or not, I think he likes them all providing they are about hymn, and about His son, about His work, His mercy and His character. I do like to think that every hymn to God, whatever it may be is a good hymn, and as long as we sing it with all our heart and soul and mind, it is pleasing to God.

Mind you I would still love to know what His favorite hymn is, or at least if he has a top ten. Ps 116 " I Love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me . i will call on him ... ...... The Lord protects the simple hearted; when I was in great need he saved me".
